ASTORIA-VICTORIA BUILDING | MÁLAGA
In this case, the proposed building for the Astoria-Victoria block competition was based on several key concepts:
1. The city is given a space at the level of the square – a square within a square – that residents can use for meetings, theaters, cinemas or exhibitions.
2. The connection between the Plaza de la Merced and Mount Gibralfaro is enhanced through the building itself.
3. A large-scale representative space is generated as a diagonal section that can accommodate various uses, always supported by smaller rooms.
4. The roof becomes a surface with great qualities to be used as a restaurant with privileged views over the city of Malaga.
